Peaces of Love
Canvas Giclee Heart Art
The Inside Story
By Debbie Marie Arambula
I was sitting in my booth at an art show one day thinking, I need to change the look and feel of my price tags. I wanted them to be creative and apart of the art, not like a “professional gallery label”, but rather a voice bubble coming out of the art, stating the title & price.
So I started cutting left over pieces of buff colored card stock into a ton of heart shapes. As I cut these shapes I felt as thou I was taping into a peaceful childlike energy, like the one you feel when you were in kindergarten using scissors for the first time, the kind where your tongue is sticking out because you are so into what you are doing, one that I had forgotten along the journey to adulthood.
As I was cutting these pieces up I noticed that the left over scraps had this wonderful childlike defiant, yet positive energy in them and so I kept them safe in a brown bag.
In the months to follow I had been reading some fantastic books about life & lots of wonderfully positive spiritual books and in this journey I became more & more clear about the messages that I would send to the world in futures pieces of art.
One night, months later, after seeing Slum Dog Millionaire, I walked into my studio with all the scraps laying about in a beautiful mess & it hit me instantly, I was wholeheartedly inspired, one of those light bulb moments where your heart lights up at the same time and the purpose of what your doing shines like a spiritual beacon, a calling to the soul. In this energetic moment I moved these recycled cut up heart shapes “scraps” around the canvas and that night at 11pm began the first of the series of the peace love series.
Since a young child I have always found beauty in things that most would throw away. And it is in these moments in my career that my life purpose comes to full view. Very magical moment indeed!
My Purpose was clear, my focus unstoppable, just like true love & inspired peace, we all have the energy to create what ever we want in life and thus Peaces of my Heart came first & then Peaces of Love soon after.
This series is dedicated to the children of the world, especially third world countries. May they always find more then enough courage to dream & reach for a higher existence despite the world around them and to the Adult, may you never lose your spirited soul as the child you once were.
